Spasioci nastavljaju potragu za preživelima u najsmrtonosnijoj železničkoj nesreći u Grčkoj, u zgnječenim i smrskanim ostacima vagona koji su iskočili iz šina, a zatim se zapalili u katastrofi u kojoj je poginulo najmanje 46 ljudi.
Povređeno je oko 150 od ukupno oko 350 ljudi koji su bili u vozu. Reč je uglavnom o studentima koji su se iz Atine vražali u Solun, prenose mediji. Šestoto povrešenih je u kritičnom stanju. Traga se za još najmanje 10 osoba, a mnogi veruju da su oni u potpunosti izgoreli u prvom vagonu i da že se tek DNK analizom potvrditi njihov identitet kao stradalih.

Grčki premijer Kirijakos Micotakis rekao je da je za katastrofu kriva „tragična ljudska greška“.
Šef železničke stanice u Larisi uhapšen je u sredu u okviru istrage kojom vlasti ispituju okolnosti koje su dovele do sudara vozova, a njegov advokat je izjavio da prihvata odgovornost za tragediju.
„Na ljudskom nivou, on je uništen. Razmišlja o onome što se dogodilo i ne može da podnese teret odgovornosti. Prihvata odgovornost koja mu pripada“, rekao je advokat.
Ministar saobraćaja Kostas Karamanlis ranije je podneo ostavku i poručio da preuzima odgovornost za dugotrajne neuspehe države da popravi železnički sistem za koji je rekao da „nije odgovarajući za 21. vek“.

U Grčkoj su izbili protesti zbog železničke nesreće, a mnogi to vide kao katastrofu koja je samo sačekala da se dogodi.
Demonstranti su se sukobili sa policijom ispred sedišta “Helenik trejna” u Atini , kompanije odgovorne za održavanje grčkih železnica.
Protesti su održani i u Solunu i gradu Larisi, u blizini mesta gde se katastrofa dogodila u utorak uveče.
NOVOIMENOVANI MINISTAR: SVE ĆE BITI ISPITANO
Novoimenovani grčki ministar saobraćaja Giorgos Gerapetrit, tokom preuzimanja dužnosti, poručio je da svoj mandat počinje zadatkom da istraži najtežu železničku nesreću u zemlji, da modernizuje železnički sistem i unapredi bezbednost putovanja vozom, prenosi Katimerini.
„Pošto se suočavamo sa pravom tragedijom, želim, pre svega, da se izvinim porodicama poginulih i iskreno želim da ih pogledam u oči i kažem da će se ovaj težak i mučan posao nastaviti dok se ne završi. Sve će biti ispitano“, dodao je novi ministar.
Ukazao je da Vlada osniva komitet stručnjaka koji će „na transparentan način“ istražiti sve okolnosti nesreće.

Vozovi danas neće saobraćati u Grčkoj, nakon što je Panhelenska federacija železničkih radnika (POS) odlučila da stupi u 24-časovni štrajk.
„Nažalost, naši dugogodišnji zahtevi za zapošljavanjem stalnog osoblja, boljom obukom i, pre svega, modernom bezbednosnom tehnologijom, uvek završe u kanti za smeće“, navodi se u saopštenju sindikata.
Poručili su i da je danas dan za razmišljanje i preispitivanje, ali i da ovim žele da izraze žalost zbog stradalih u nesreći.
I atinski metro danas neće raditi.
GRČKI NOVINAR: JAVNOST OGORČENA, NIJE ZNALA NA RADI DIGITALNI SISTEM KONTROLE
Dopisnik grčke televizije ERT Nikos Pelpas rekao je da je ostavka ministra Kostasa Karamanlisa politička odgovornost, ali da mora da se traži krivična odgovornost, ne samo kod šefa stanice u Larisi, koji je dao nalog da voz promeni kolosek, već i u samom vrhu.
Pelpas je za Tanjug istakao da je javnost u Grčkoj ogorčena, jer je tek sada saznala da ne radi digitalni sistem kontrole železničkog saobraćaja i dodaje da u 21. veku ne bi smeo ljudski faktor da bude presudan.
Objasnio je da pruga od Soluna do Atine ima dva koloseka, jedan je Atina–Solun, a drugi Solun–Atina i da tu ne bi trebalo da bude čeoni sudar dva voza, ali je, kako kaže, šef stanice u Larisi samostalno odlučio da prebaci voz na drugi kolosek koji vodi u suprotnom pravcu, kada je primetio da se urušio sistem elektriifikacije u koloseku koji vodi ka Solunu, gde se ovaj putnički voz kretao.
„On verovatno nije znao da se u tom trenutku tu nalazi teretni voz, mislio je da prođe nekoliko kilometara i da se onda vrati u pravi kolosek, ali se desila nesreća. Verovatno nemaju nikakav digitalni i elektronski uvid na železnički saobraćaj u Grčkoj“, rekao je Pelpas.
