Broj nastradalih u razornom zemljotresu koji je jutros pogodio Tusrku i Siriju povećan je na više 2,300, a veruje se da će brojevi porasti, pošto su spasilačke ekipe još uvek na terenu u potrazi za preživelima ili eventualnim žrtvama, preneo je danas AP.
Zemljotres jačine 7,8 Rihtera pogodio je rano jutros Tursku u blizini granice sa Sirijom, a nekoliko sati kasnije potres jačine 7,5 na Rihterovoj skali dogodio se na 100 kilometara udaljenosti u centralnoj Turskoj.
AP navodi da je u 10 turskih provincija poginulo blizu 1,500 ljudi, a gotovo 8,500 je povređeno, dok je njih 430 poginulo u područjima Sirije pod upravom sirijske vlade, dok je njih 1,280 povređeno.
Dodaje se da je u područjima Sirije koje kontrolišu pobunjenici poginulo najmanje 380 osoba.
Prijavljeno je da se hiljade zgrada srušilo na širokom području koje se proteže od sirijskih gradova Alepa i Hame do turskog Dijarbakira, na više od 330 kilometara udaljenosti.
U Dijarbakiru, stotine spasilaca i civila formirale su redove preko olupine, pomerajući polomljene komade betona, kućne stvari i druge krhotine u potrazi za preživelima dok su bageri kopali ruševine.
Na video-snimku koji je objavio CNN, vidi se kako spasioci iz ruševina izvlače devojčicu koju potom hitno odnose u pravcu vozila hitne pomoći.
Potpredsednik Turske Fuat Oktaj saopštio je da se u primorskom gradu Iskenderunu srušila se bolnica.
Medicinska organizacija SAMS saopštila je da su zdravstvene ustanove i bolnice brzo ispunjene povređenima, a da su neke institucije poput porodilišta morale biti ispražnjene.
AP navodi da su u Turskoj ljudi koji su pokušavali da napuste područja pogođena zemljotresom izazvali gužve u saobraćaju, ometajući napore timova hitne pomoći koji pokušavaju da stignu do pogođenih područja.
Džamije širom regiona otvorene su kako bi pružile sklonište ljudima koji nisu mogli da se vrate u oštećene domove zbog temperatura koje su se kretale oko nule, a vlasti su pozvale stanovništvo da ne izlazi na ulice.
Zemljotres je oštetio istorijski zamak koji se nalazi na vrhu brda u centru glavnog grada provincije Gazijantep, na oko 33 kilometra udaljenosti od epicentra, a na fotografijama se može videti kako su delovi zidova tvrđave i osmatračnice sravnjeni, dok su drugi teško oštećeni.
Na severozapadu Sirije, zemljotres je dodao nove probleme enklavi koju drži opozicija u provinciji Idlib, koja je godinama pod opsadom, uz česte ruske i vladine vazdušne napade.
U malom gradu Azmarin koji drže sirijski pobunjenici u planinama pored turske granice, tela nekoliko mrtve dece, umotana u ćebad, preneta su u bolnicu.
Generalna direkcija za muzeje u Siriji saopštila je da je zemljotres naneo određenu štetu Markabu, odnosno Stražarskoj kuli, koju su izgradili krstaši.
Pomoć Turskoj ponudile su nemački kancelar Olaf Šolc i ruski predsednik Vladimir Putin.
Spasilački timovi iz deset zemalja EU, kao i Srbije, regrutovani su i poslati u Tursku kao pomoć.
ERDOGAN PROGLASIO SEDMODNEVNU ŽALOST
Predsednik Turske Redžep Tajip Erdogan proglasio je sedmodnevnu žalost zbog katastrofalnog zemljotresa kod Gazijantepa prenela je Anadolija.
Generalna skupština Ujedinjenih nacija minutom ćutanja odala je poštu žrtvama razornog zemljotresa u Turskoj i Siriji.
